We're in the news along with our Friends Good Will tall ship across the street. News Channel 9&10 from Traverse City, MI doing a segment on fun places to visit and they landed at the dock across the street... and laid their heads on our pillows.

Watch this!!!!

We made them a great breakfast and served it ON the dock at the Michigan Maritime Museum. Alex, the reporter, couldn't wait to dive into our French Toast breakfast. I think we should start serving dockside all the time...upon request. Wouldn't that be another great reason to come to town!

I celebrate this every day but today its official.There are 10 ways I have been advised by the Washington Post to celebrate IWD but my favorite is to wear RED lipstick.

Twice a year we open the doors at our Inn to a breast cancer survivors retreat and they will be arriving later today. What a wonderful way to celebrate women who are strong, inspiring, and SURVIVING!!!

Its actually snowing here. We thought it would be a good idea to make that request since my daffodils have started popping up and my chickadees are singing their Spring song a bit early. We are getting ready for the 2012 season and maybe it will start early this year. We have some great new breakfast recipes that we have been working on in the test kitchen and we are all still alive!!!..in fact, with maybe a few extra pounds. Here is an inside view of our latest souffle, we do souffles often here, and it is topped with fresh tomatoes, avocado and hollandiase. I love it when we make too much. We all get to have some in the kitchen.

Here is the latest thing going on in our town USA.
We love the Olive Cart. If you haven't made your taste buds wake up this season with something new and exciting , ya gotta try this place. Its amazing how your taste buds will react to things that pair well. Just like wine, cheese, and meats can be paired properly, so can other palette pleasers, like olive oil and balsamic vineagrs. You get to do the taste tests.

We love all the great places to eat, and the great places to drink, and the great places to dance, and the places that offer ALL of the above. Our FISH (Favorites In South Haven) favorite this week is Captain Lou's' ...right across the street from us and we have VIP passes for our guests. The food is pretty awesome and you can't beat sitting on the river watching the boats go by. Stop in there whenever you are in town. We love it!!!

Need a bike while staying in South Haven? Get your exercise after our fantastic breakfast ( we do leave out the calories) and see the sites. We are within walking distance to everything but when you hop on a bike, its a whole new perspective. We are renting them here at the Inn so you don't have to haul your bikes along for your stay with us. Just another thing we are doing to make your experience here a great one!

Can we brag a bit more??? We have always bragged about our beautiful beaches to anyone who will listen, ...its on our website, its on our youtube videos, we tell everyone who comes here, and now the world will know. Lake Michigan looks like a big beautiful blue ocean but the good news gets even better. It doesn't have any salt, no sea critters, and no oil. So, you have to come and wiggle your toes in the sand, watch an amazing sunset, or search for beach glass on the "Best Beach & Shoreline" for 2011.

Snowmobiling in South Haven, MI

OK so the tempurature WAS in the low 20's and we were able to grab a day to play in the snow before this early melt came along. I was excited to find that we can hop on our snowmobiles and jump on the Ka-Haven trail with the starting point being right here at the Inn at the Park B&B. We ended up in Edwardsburg and had lunch at the famous Lunkers Restaurant.

What was so amazing is that our ride was like many we used to take "Up North". We ran our sleds along US 12 on the marked trail and not only was it a great day but an amazing ride.

Here we are all bundled up and, let me remind you, we left from the parking lot at the Inn right here in South Haven, MI.

If you still haven't figured out a way to say "I Love You" , we can help. Inn at the Park B&B has Jacuzzi's suites with fireplaces, cushy robes to lounge in,we have chocolate covered strawberries,and we have a rose petal turn down service that will certianly set the mood for romance.

Add a custom bottle of Champagne with some chocolate covered strawberries and you have the recipe for "I Love You" without saying a word.

We are planning a special Valentine breakfast of Strawberry stuffed French Toast Saturday morning, so come and join us for a winter getaway filled with red hearts, red roses, and romance...we may throw in a few snowflakes as well!

WOW...we had so much fun at the Ice Breakers Festival. The weather was perfect. The town was abuzz with people and we didn't have to work! We tasted chili, drank mini martinis on outside decks and ended our day of afternoon fun with a great glass of wine at the Channel Wine Bar. I don't have their website yet but call us at the Inn and I will give you my FREE review of a great place to visit. Do you think I can get a glass of wine for this promo??

Snow, you say??? Isn't that an answer to pray? The last time I looked at my drivers license it said " Winter Wonderland"...well it also told me how old I was and how much I weighed but I didn't let that depress me . I looked outside instead and danced at the thought of lots of snow. Winter Festival this weekend and snowmobilers can come to South Haven Michigan and sled all over town. Hey if this keeps up we might be able to do dog sled races!

2011 Ice Breakers Winter Festival in South Haven, MI

South Haven Michigan is known for its great festivals, and our personal favorite is right around the corner. The South Haven Ice Breakers 2011 Winter Festival is the first weekend of February 4-6. There are numerous ice sculptures being done all along our main street downtown USA, and Mother Nature's sculpting out on the pier! There are chili cook-offs at most restaurants, and Foundry Hall is the host for the amateur chili cook-off's...which is really crazy fun.

The Yacht Club opens its doors... and its deck... to the public and has a cook-out on the deck, which is on the Black River, with mini-martini's and other cocktail concoctions for the Festival. Here is the EVENT CALENDAR.

Can you come and play? No place to stay, you say? I'll bet I can come up with a solution to the problem. Check us out. We are cozy, warm, and just 3 blocks from all the action.

Coming in on a snowmobile? We have a parking lot for your sled and a bed for your head. South Haven is snowmobile friendly...FINALLY... thanks to our new Mayor.
